与此同时，我设法通过在 VirtualBox IDE 存储设置页面而不是导致错误的“挂载”对话框中附加 .iso 镜像来启动安装过程。

在 VirtualBox UI 中打开 VM 的设置，转到存储，单击 IDE Controller 列表中的“空”条目，然后选择屏幕右侧的磁盘图标。最后，选择“选择虚拟光盘文件”，然后选择您选择的 .iso。然后启动VM，它应该可以正常启动。
